Yascha Mounk received his BA in History and his MPhil in Political Thought from Trinity College, Cambridge. After working as a theater director for a year, Yascha studied political theory at Columbia University and in Paris. Since 2007, he has been a PhD Candidate at Harvard University’s Government Department, where he is currently at work on a dissertation about “The Moral and Political Significance of Luck.”
Born in Germany and at home in Montelaterone, Italy, Yascha is the Founding Editor of The Utopian. He is currently at work on a book on German-Jewish relations since 1945 for Farrar, Straus and Giroux, and has published articles in newspapers and magazines including the New York Times, the International Herald Tribune, the Boston Globe, n+1, the Paris Review (Daily) and Dissent.
